What SAP iPPE Training Covers
iPPE stands for Integrated Product and Process Engineering. It is a way of storing product and production data in SAP for goods that come in a huge number of versions. A car model can have thousands of mixes of engine, colour, trim and options. Writing a separate bill of materials for each would be impossible, so iPPE keeps one shared structure and marks which parts and steps apply to which version. SAP iPPE training teaches you to build and use that structure.
iPPE is part of standard SAP S/4HANA and is used mostly in automotive and other high-variant discrete manufacturing. Its data feeds production planning, so SAP iPPE training sits close to SAP PP training. If you already know classic variant BOMs, SAP Variant Configuration training shows the other common way SAP handles product options.

From iPPE Data to a Production Plan in SAP iPPE Training
Once the structures are ready and pass the consistency check, iPPE data is sent to SAP Advanced Planning (PP/DS) and turned into a production data structure (PDS). PP/DS then uses that PDS to plan which model goes down the line in which order, often called model-mix planning. The last two modules of the SAP iPPE training cover this hand-over and show it in a demo. Note that PP/DS in S/4HANA needs its own SAP licence.

Before You Start the SAP iPPE Classes
